(formerly the Global Virtual Symposium on Trypanosomiasis)
Advances in Trypanosomes, Leishmania and Related Parasites
October 5, 2026 | Eastern Time (US & Canada) | Online
Connect with leading parasitologists, clinicians, and researchers at a global virtual symposium dedicated to advancing research on trypanosomes, Leishmania, and related kinetoplastid parasites through scientific exchange, innovation, and international collaboration.
Building on the success of the 2025 Global Virtual Symposium on Trypanosomiasis, the 2nd Global Virtual Symposium on Kinetoplastid Diseases will bring together leading researchers, clinicians, and public health professionals from around the world to advance scientific exchange, foster international collaborations, and accelerate innovations in kinetoplastid research.
Expanding beyond trypanosomiasis, this year’s symposium will highlight the latest advances in the biology, genomics, drug discovery, diagnostics, immunology, vector biology, and disease management of Human African Trypanosomiasis, Chagas disease, leishmaniasis, and other kinetoplastid parasites.
Kinetoplastid diseases continue to impose a substantial health and socioeconomic burden across many regions of the world. Continued interdisciplinary research and global collaboration are essential for developing new tools for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and disease control.
This one-day virtual symposium will provide an international platform for scientists working in basic, translational, clinical, and public health research to share discoveries, discuss emerging challenges, and build collaborations that advance the field.
